While the algorithms couldn’t feel what a run felt like, we couldn’t perceive multidimensional data. We couldn’t cross-reference the lyrics of every song written against newspaper headlines to gauge generational sentiment.
The machines didn’t understand how we survived this long, considering how many of our decisions were made on a ‘hunch.’ Our ability to fill in the gaps and make decent guesses with incomplete and partial information baffled the algorithms.
