When it first waddled out into the deforested wasteland, the resistance thought it was some sort of fraud.
We couldn’t see how one mechanical duck would terraform a desert into a fertile and biodiverse habitat. The machines loved their mallards and wanted to rehabilitate large chunks of the planet into wildfowl sanctuaries.
Over a few years, the resistance’s initial skepticism melted as tiny green slivers grew in the mechanical duck’s wake.
