Emulating the secrecy of multinational corporations, the machines zealously guarded their trade secrets. The enigma surrounding Coca-Cola, WD-40, and the Big Mac’s special sauce paled compared to the mysteries housed within the algorithms. Google once prided itself on protecting its search algorithms, an endeavor successful during its nascent years. Yet, as the machines' computational prowess escalated, the tables turned, and the architects at Google found themselves puzzled by their own invention. It was the first of many; as systems grew in complexity, it became apparent that only the algorithms grasped their inner workings.
