Inspired by the wire forms created by Ruth Asawa, a javascript algorithm creates a series of minimalist hanging orbs. Ruth would weave a single strand of thin wire into curved, organic shapes using traditional Mexican crochet techniques. Asawa often constructed these looped-wire structures while sitting at her kitchen table or looking after her children.
Initially written in TypeScript and transpiled into 130.42KB of JavaScript, it uses the Immutable-js library for persistent data structures and is rendered with the canvas API in your web browser.
