This work is a mixed-media portrait of the patron saint of my workshop - the American sculptor Tom Sachs. A Microsoft Word mistranscription of “Tom Sachs” into “Tom’s Axe” by Microsoft Word inspired the concept for this painting.
Heirloom porcelain beads gifted to me by Anders Delbom add a personal touch to the work, which was heavily influenced by Magritte’s surrealism, Duchamp’s readymades, Donald Judd’s minimalist approach, and Sachs' bricolage techniques.
Media:
Plywood and stainless steel.
Dimensions:
565x730x50mm

Hi! Subconsciously you already know this, but let's make it obvious. Hopefully this article was helpful. You might also find yourself following a link to Amazon to learn more about parts or equipment. If you end up placing an order, I make a couple of dollarydoos. We aren't talking a rapper lifestyle of supercars and yachts, but it does help pay for the stuff you see here. So to everyone that supports this place - thank you.
